New Blogger: NewSoGoFan Starts “Southern Gospel Yankee”

It is always good to hear of another blogger adding to the thoughts and opinions of the great, sometimes crazy but ultimately fascinating genre of music that is, Southern Gospel.

NewSoGoFan is a name many readers may be familiar with. Her guest posts over at Daniel Mount’s blog and her insightful comments have often added a new perspective to news articles, CD reviews and much more.

NewSoGoFan has decided to manifest her opinions into a blogging medium. You can read about her posts at http://southerngospelyankee.wordpress.com/

Head on over to give our new and very talented blogger a hearty welcome!

New SG Blogger: Steve Eaton

It has taken me a long time to get around to this, work has been hectic!

Steve Eaton has started up a blog entitled, “Southern Gospel Views From The Back Row”. This blog will focus upon concert reviews, up and coming artists and the enticingly titled, “iPod Track of The Week”.

Welcome to the world of blogging, Steve, i’m looking forward to the new dimension you will offer.

Be sure to go over and check out the site!

New Blogger!

My good friend Timothy Fultz, aka Hawkeye315 on YouTube has just started a blog called, “My Ponderings” and you can view it here.

Earlier I had the opportunity to have a chat with Timothy via Skype. Timothy is 19, lives in Seymour, MO.  His dream would be to sing bass in a quartet one day. Timothy also shared with me that he feels that is his calling in life. Hopefully one day he may allow me in his quartet. I’ll fill in the baritone part. ;)

We chatted for well over an hour on topics like Southern Gospel, music, news and current affairs. Skype is a brilliant invention. (If anyone out there would like to add me, just search for phil.boles) I asked Tim a few questions about his blog and what we can expect.

Basically Timothy plans to post on different topics, Southern Gospel, 9/11 Truth, New World Order exposure, musical technology and just his thoughts in general. Timothy is also planning to post on the topic of eschatology. A fascinating subject indeed!  Timothy really is a deep spiritual guy, I learned so much from in just one Skype conversation, it was incredible. His musical knowledge of groups, personnel and songs is also boundless, the blog has a great foundation to build upon.

Timothy loves the more traditional quartet and trio harmony in SG today. Gold City, Booth Brothers and the Anchormen would be firm favourites. Timothy has contacts and friends within the SG industry and that should make for some interesting posts and topics.  Timothy mentioned that he was challenged by the lyrics of some SG songs of late and I hope he translates these thoughts into a few blog posts. His thoughts will move you and challenge you greatly.
